Buliding The Human Animal Bond
I have been training dogs for the last 14 years and worked in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs as a Veterinary Nurse for the past 13 years gaining my Advanced diploma In Veterinary Nursing in 1997. My experience during my Veterinary Nursing career has been the driving force behind my passion to help as many dog owners and their dogs enjoy a harmonious life together. Seeing one dog being euthanaised not for old age illnesses but for an avoidable behavioural issue is one dog too many!
I am a qualified dog trainer and abide by the most up to date positive training methods, Why? Because they work, the dog enjoys it and so will you. Its something you can maintain for a lifetime and increases the bond between you and your dog.
I have worked with Velma's Pets As Therapy - A volunteer organisation who provide an enhanced quality of life for people living in nursing homes by regular visits of specially trained dogs and handlers. I have trained the first White German Shepherd Dog to be assessed and passed as an accredited assistance dog. Trained to aid her owner during regular daily activities including public access.
I also volunteer with Lifeline Central Coast as a telephone Crisis Counsellor on a regular fortnightly shift and attend many professional development training course in relation to counselling.
I am a member of Many dog training associations and attend regular training seminars and conferences. I have three dogs a Foxie X, Silkie terrier X , a Chihuahua and our dear old cat pictured who has now passed on was trained to sit, shake and beg!
My other jobs are veterinary hospital practice Manager and Mummy to a little lady who is 5 and big man who is 3!
